Let’s Drop the Woo: Somatic Work That Actually Makes Sense

Let’s clear something up right away: Somatic work does NOT require incense, chanting, or sitting cross‑legged on a Himalayan cushion while whispering to your inner goddess.

You don’t need jargon. You don’t need to be “Zen.” You don’t need to pretend you’re floating three inches above the ground.

Honestly? Most people think somatic work is this mystical, ethereal thing reserved for people who speak in riddles and wear linen 24/7. But that’s not real life — and it’s definitely not my world.

Not woo‑woo simply means: 👉 We don’t complicate what the body already knows how to do. 👉 We don’t use language that makes you feel like you’re doing it wrong. 👉 We don’t pretend regulation requires a personality transplant. 👉 We don’t disconnect from reality to “find ourselves.”

Instead, we do something much more powerful: We get honest. We get human. We get in harmony with our bodies.

💛 Somatic Work Isn’t About Being Zen — It’s About Being in Communication

Your body is talking to you all day long. Most of us just haven’t been taught how to listen without judgment.

Somatic work — the way I teach it — is simply:

  • noticing what your body is saying

  • responding with curiosity instead of panic

  • letting sensations be information, not emergencies

  • staying open-hearted even when you feel messy

That’s it. No mystical vocabulary required.

You don’t need to “ascend.” You don’t need to “transcend.” You don’t need to “activate your cosmic portal of inner light.”

You just need to be in honest communication with your body.

And yes — you can do that while wearing leggings, holding a coffee, or walking your dog.

🌙 SomaSnooze: Nighttime Audios Without the Woo

My nighttime audios aren’t here to hypnotize you into another dimension. They’re here to help you do something beautifully simple:

Slow down enough to hear yourself again.

SomaSnooze is built on the belief that your body already knows how to settle — you just need a little guidance to access the tools you already have:

  • visualization

  • breath

  • softening

  • releasing the day

  • letting your body melt into the night

No chanting. No spiritual theatrics. No “open your third eye to the moon portal.”

Just grounded, gentle, human regulation.

🚶‍♀️✨ SomaStride: Because You Don’t Have to Sit Still to Be Centered

Let’s talk about the biggest myth in the somatic world:

“You must be still to be grounded.”

Nope. Not even close.

Your body is built to regulate through movement. Walking is one of the most natural, accessible, nervous‑system‑friendly practices we have.

SomaStride exists because:

  • you don’t have to sit criss‑cross applesauce to find your center

  • grounding can happen while your feet are literally moving forward

  • clarity often shows up mid‑stride, not mid‑stillness

  • regulation is easier when your body is doing what it was designed to do

And honestly? You can channel somatic presence while running a race, dancing in your kitchen, or pacing your hallway during a phone call.

Movement is not the opposite of mindfulness. Movement is mindfulness.

💛 Light Heart, Open Heart, Full Human

I believe in something simple and deeply human:

You can have a light heart and still welcome every feeling you have.

You don’t have to be serious to be regulated. You don’t have to be emotionless to be grounded. You don’t have to be “perfectly calm” to be doing somatic work correctly.

True regulation is built on:

  • honesty

  • curiosity

  • compassion

  • humor

  • permission

  • presence

You get to be a full human — messy, emotional, joyful, overwhelmed, hopeful — and still be deeply connected to your body.

That’s the opposite of woo‑woo. That’s real life.

The Bottom Line

Somatic work isn’t about being mystical. It’s about being in relationship with your body.

SomaSnooze helps you slow down. SomaStride helps you move forward. Both help you come home to yourself — without the jargon, the theatrics, or the pressure to be someone you’re not.

Just you. Just your body. Just honest, grounded, human regulation.
