🌿 The Birth of SomaStride™: How a Somatic Walking Method Came to Life


There are moments in life when something new rises quietly inside you — not as a business idea, not as a strategy, but as a truth your body has been whispering for years. SomaStride™ was one of those moments for me.

It didn’t arrive in a flash of inspiration. It arrived slowly, the way healing often does — through lived experience, through noticing what my body needed, and through watching the women I serve carry more than their nervous systems were ever meant to hold.

This is the story of how SomaStride™ was born, what it includes, and why I believe it’s the beginning of a new way of moving through the world.


🌸 Where SomaStride™ Began: A Body Asking for Something Different

For years, I have taught pilates, fitness, and now yoga, somatics, and nervous‑system‑first practices. I watched women come to their mats exhausted — not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. They weren’t looking for a workout. They were looking for a way back to themselves.


And yet, I also saw something else:

Women wanted movement. They wanted strength. They wanted to feel capable in their bodies again. But they didn’t want to push, grind, or override their signals to get there.

I started asking myself:

What if movement didn’t have to be fast to be effective? What if walking — the most natural movement we have — could become a somatic practice? What if we could take yoga off the mat and bring fitness into the somatic world?

That question became the seed of SomaStride™.
