🌿 The Birth of SomaStride™: How a Somatic Walking Method Came to Life

There are moments in life when something new rises quietly inside you — not as a business idea, not as a strategy, but as a truth your body has been whispering for years. SomaStride™ was one of those moments for me.
It didn’t arrive in a flash of inspiration. It arrived slowly, the way healing often does — through lived experience, through noticing what my body needed, and through watching the women I serve carry more than their nervous systems were ever meant to hold.
This is the story of how SomaStride™ was born, what it includes, and why I believe it’s the beginning of a new way of moving through the world.
🌸 Where SomaStride™ Began: A Body Asking for Something Different
For years, I have taught pilates, fitness, and now yoga, somatics, and nervous‑system‑first practices. I watched women come to their mats exhausted — not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. They weren’t looking for a workout. They were looking for a way back to themselves.
And yet, I also saw something else:
Women wanted movement. They wanted strength. They wanted to feel capable in their bodies again. But they didn’t want to push, grind, or override their signals to get there.
I started asking myself:
What if movement didn’t have to be fast to be effective? What if walking — the most natural movement we have — could become a somatic practice? What if we could take yoga off the mat and bring fitness into the somatic world?
That question became the seed of SomaStride™.
🌿 What SomaStride™ Actually Is
SomaStride™ is a nervous‑system‑first walking method that blends:
gentle physical movement
somatic awareness
breathwork
posture resets
emotional presence
functional gait mechanics
and mindful pacing
It’s the best of both worlds:
Movement that strengthens the body and Somatic practice that softens the nervous system.
It’s walking — but slowed down, intentional, and infused with the kind of awareness that helps you unwind instead of tighten. It’s fitness — but without the pressure, the punishment, or the push. It’s somatics — but accessible, simple, and woven into something you already do every day.
🌼 Why Walking? Why Somatics? Why Now?
Because women are tired. Not “I need a nap” tired — but emotional‑exhaustion tired.
The kind of tired that shows up as:
irritability
heaviness
shutdown
brain fog
tension in the back and hips
feeling disconnected from your own body
Walking is one of the most supportive ways to regulate the nervous system. Somatics is one of the most supportive ways to reconnect with yourself.
SomaStride™ brings them together.
🌙 The Pace & Presence Challenge: How SomaStride™ Enters the World
Every new modality needs a doorway — a way for people to experience it without feeling overwhelmed.
The 30‑Day Pace & Presence Challenge is that doorway.
It breaks SomaStride™ into four gentle, digestible weeks:
The Art of Arriving
Unlocking the Kinetic Chain
The Emotional Release
The Integrated Life
Each day offers a short, audio‑guided practice that helps you:
breathe deeper
walk with more ease
release emotional pressure
soften your posture
reconnect with your body
regulate your nervous system
It’s not a just a workout program. It’s not just a walking challenge. It’s a somatic reset woven into movement — something your body already knows how to do.
🌿 Taking Yoga Off the Mat — And Bringing Fitness Into the Somatic World
For years, the wellness world has split movement into categories:
yoga
fitness
somatics
mobility
meditation
But real life doesn’t work that way. Your body doesn’t separate them. Your nervous system doesn’t separate them.
SomaStride™ is what happens when you stop choosing between:
strength or softness
movement or mindfulness
fitness or nervous‑system care
It’s all of it, woven together.
🌸 What’s Coming Next: Somatic Functional Movement (SomaStrength™)
SomaStride™ is just the beginning.
As I’ve developed this method, another layer has been forming — a way to bring functional strength into the somatic world without losing the gentleness, the presence, or the nervous‑system awareness.
I’m calling it SomaStrength™ — a somatic approach to functional movement that builds capability without overwhelm.
It’s coming. And it’s going to change the way we think about strength.
🌼 Why I Care So Much About This
Because I care about women. I care about their nervous systems. I care about the weight they carry — the emotional, mental, physical, spiritual weight that often goes unseen.
SomaStride™ isn’t a brand idea. It’s a response to what I’ve witnessed in myself and in the women I serve.
It’s a way to move that honors:
your pace
your presence
your capacity
your nervous system
your emotional landscape
your lived experience
It’s movement that meets you where you are — and gently invites you back home to yourself.
🌙 A Final Word
If you’ve been feeling disconnected from your body… If you’ve been craving movement but don’t have the energy for “fitness”… If you’ve been longing for a way to regulate, soften, and breathe again…
SomaStride™ was created for you.
Not to fix you. Not to push you. But to walk with you — gently, steadily, one somatic step at a time.
